The boat trip
Depending on the time of year and in order to make the most of your boat trip (sunshine, temperature, wildlife viewing), we strongly recommend contacting the boat operators, who will be able to advise you on the best times to travel.
- Approximately 8-kilometre descent (La Malène – Cirque des Baumes)
- A professional boatman will guide you throughout your descent.
- At the end of the descent, a shuttle bus will take you back to La Malène (included in the price).
- Duration approximately 1 hour on the water + 30 minutes return journey by shuttle bus.
- There is no age limit on the boat; the activity is open to young children.
- A boat can hold up to 6 people. It is advisable to book your boat trip in advance to ensure you get a place on the date and at the time that suits you best.
- Pets are welcome! Simply specify this when making your booking.
- We are open every day of the week.

The price is €26 per person (please contact us for children and groups). Boats depart when there are at least four paid seats.
If there are fewer than four people, we will fill the boat with other customers. The boat can hold up to six people.
The return trip to the starting point is by minibus and is included in the price.
The boatmen are located in the small village of La Malène in Lozère, in the heart of the Gorges du Tarn. Find our kiosk on the village square, at the entrance to the La Malène bridge. After visiting the kiosk, you will be taken down to the riverbank at the pier beach. This has been the departure point for tourist trips for over 150 years. After your trip, the return shuttle will drop you off in front of the boatmen's kiosk in the centre of the village.
